Has your credit union examined its financial education strategy lately? If not, now’s the time! And BizKid$ can help.
The Minnesota Credit Union Foundation is a proud supporter of BizKid$, a public television series where kids teach kids how to make and manage their money. Quirky, modern and hip, this series teaches the basics of economics and entrepreneurship in a fun way.
Below is a step-by-step guide to getting involved!
- Watch an episode online at the BizKid$ website.
- Strategize within your credit union how this tool could fit into your overall financial education strategy, either working with students in the schools or working directly with your own members.
- free BizKid$ curriculum that works in tandem with the show. Each episode has its own curriculum, which can be used in the classroom or at your credit union. (Available in English and Spanish.) Curriculum includes vocabulary sheet, family activities, worksheets, and a list of all equipment, materials, and preparation needed to teach the episode
- Encourage students and members to check out the tools available online – including budget worksheets, calculators to help save for college, games that encourage entrepreneurship and tips on saving and investing. Find out more on the Tools for Kids section of the BizKid$ website.
